THE FRIENDS OF STAVELY LIBRARY SOCIETY   

Our Society is selling tubs of Ice Melt again this year. You can pre- order now by emailing: help@stavelylibrary.ca; or phone the Library at 403-549-2190 or stop in at the library Mon - Thursdays during open hours as posted on the Library Website. $30/pail if pre-ordered before Nov 1st.  Delivery available in town on Nov 1st or can be picked up at the Library or at the Christmas Market Nov. 1st.

Once again, we will be having a 50/50 draw for you to enter and win up to $500 at a cost of $10 per square.  Draw to TBA at the Stavely Municipal Library.   The Tickets can be purchased at the Library beginning November 1st.    We will also have a table set up at the Royal Purple Christmas Market on November 1st to purchase 50/50 tickets.

Next meeting is scheduled for Thursday Oct. 12th @ 6pm.

BOOK CLUB – Next meeting will be Thursday Oct. 12 in the library at 7:00pm. We will be discussing “Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen; “The Kitchen Front by Jennifer Ryan; and “The Devine Doughnut Shop by Carolyn Brown which were our Books about Food.   October selections will be Paranormal/Fantasy books which will be handed out that evening. The three selected to read for October are:  

v  The Shadowy Horses by Susanna Kearsley- 1999 Historical Fantasy Fiction

v  The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton– 2008  Historical Fantasy Fiction

v  The Awakening: Dragon Heart Legacy #1 by Nora Roberts– 2022 Fantasy Romance Fiction

If you are interested in participating, please come to our meeting to choose which book you would like to read or choose all of them!  Suggestions are welcome – New members are always welcome!  This club is for readers who would like to be introduced to new authors, new genres or talk about new books being published; or just to attend a casual evening of socializing with friends/neighbors!

 

New – Sixth Lecture of the

The Plot Thickens Garden Club Lecture Series is scheduled for October 19th 6:30 to 8:30pm.  If you are you interested in gaining knowledge of plants, gardens and gardening -    Come join us for a fun and interesting evening with snacks and door prizes provided. Jacquie Randle from Randle Handles Horticulture will be talking about keeping our trees and shrubs healthy, what is happening to your trees and what you should be doing to prepare for the season.There will be a fee of $10 at the door.    Please email the library or text 403-682-8880 to register.  Watch for more details on the Library Website: www.stavelylibrary.ca; Stavely Municipal Library Facebook page, and Stavely newsletter.
